Your Role

Join a team of equipment technicians to perform new machine installation. This includes all the preparation work for machine arrival, machine move-in, decontamination, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Also, work together with process technicians until the machine is released to production.

Responsibilities:

Regular:

• Work closely with Equipment Engineer on machine installation planning and scheduling
• Perform machine installation as per the schedule and report its progress
• Conduct toolbox briefing for vendors and escort vendors coming in and out of the production floor
• Ensure proper housekeeping at the installation site is always maintained
• Always follow cleanroom protocol to avoid cross-contamination
• Perform Site Acceptance Test on new equipment for machine buyoff
• To generate and conduct training for the manufacturing operators
• Perform machine hardware installation and troubleshooting
• Ensure the installation site is following Safety and Health compliance
• Liaise with facility team for machine utilities requirement and hook up
• Work with Process and Equipment Engineers on improvement projects and cost-saving project
• Liaise with vendors to ensure activities are completed within the targeted timeframe
• Check spare parts availability to ensure always adequate for machine sustaining
• PGuidefellow technicians for all machine-related issues.

Irregular (if any):

• Traveling to other Western Digital sites or supplier sites to provide support for machine-related issues.
• Working overtime or during off days if required
• Support other installation teams if extra manpower needed

About You

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronic Engineering

Experience & Skills Required:

• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting equipment and machine
• Intermediate knowledge in electrical wiring, PLC system, control system, pneumatics system, actuators, sensors, and their working principals
• Understand the risks associated with working with high voltage electrical system
• Knowledge in PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and their usage
• Good commands in English
