Your role

Programme overview

The Financial Sector Enrichment Programme (FSTEP) is a 3 + 9-month intensive graduate training program, in collaboration with Asian Banking School (ABS), designed to equip talent with the right skills and knowledge for their transition into the financial services industry. There are two intakes per year, and now the opening is for 30 September intake registration.

For the 30 September 2024 intake, UOB is hiring FSTEP Trainees for the following functions:

  • Human Resources (Corporate HR, Strategic HR, or Recruiter)
  • Technology (IT, Information Security, Planning, or Sourcing & Procurement)
  • Operations (Retail, Wholesale, etc.)
  • Finance & Corporate Services
  • Channels & Digitalisation (KL Main branch or Sri Petaling branch)
  • Personal Financial Services (Business Analytics or Marketing
  • Global Markets
  • Wholesale Banking (Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Client Fulfillment & Service, Anti-Financial Crime, etc.)

About you

  • Malaysian nationality.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with less than 2 years of working experience.
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills, adaptable, dedicated, committed, and independent.
  • Committed to completing the program. (Trainees are subjected to 1-year bond period)

Compensation and Benefits

Trainees will get  paid a minimum monthly allowance of RM2,600 by the respective participating banks or insurance companies throughout the 3+9-month program

Training & development

During the first three months of the program, trainees will join the classroom training with the Asian Banking School (ABS). FSTEP is a 3+9-month intensive graduate training program designed to equip talent with the right skills and knowledge for their transition into the financial services industry.

Career progression

Trainees will be attached to their respective departments for the remaining nine months with the opportunity to be absorbed as permanent employees after the program ends. Generally, FSTEP trainees will be offered a permanent role (based on their performance) after the 9-month on-the-job training with their respective financial institutions.
