About Standard Chartered Malaysia

Standard Chartered Malaysia has always taken immense pride in the distinction of being Malaysia’s first and oldest bank. Its presence in the country goes back to 1875 when its first branch was opened at Beach Street, Penang. Over the years, it has remained firmly committed to the nation and its growth. Locally incorporated as Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad on 29 February 1984, they have to date over 8,000 employees for their Malaysian operations, a global shared service center Standard Chartered Global Business Services (GBS), a subsidiary Price Solutions, an offshore facility in Labuan, and head office at Equatorial Plaza in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

The Bank provides a comprehensive range of financial products and services including retail, corporate and institutional banking, serving individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as corporates and institutions. Its Islamic banking subsidiary, Standard Chartered Saadiq, plays a key role in supporting international Islamic financing corridors. They were the first bank to establish a global operations hub in Malaysia. Together with sites in India, China, and Poland, GBS Malaysia supports the group’s operations in 59 markets around the world, providing its clients globally with secure and reliable banking services using state-of-the-art digital technology.
