Duties & responsibilities
The intern will work with Marriott’s Market Vice President and Malaysia Country team based in the Kuala Lumpur office. The intern will assist in projects and supporting office and hotel operations initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinates travel and hotel accommodation arrangements
- Prepares and processes expense reports.
- Coordinate and collate data/information with different teams
- Create presentation decks using PowerPoint
- Provide support on new projects
- Manage and respond to e-mails in an effective, organized, and professional way
- Assist the team in facilitating appointments, organizing meeting schedules, and preparing agenda
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and follow company policies and procedures
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
Job knowledge, skills, & abilities
- Display strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in handling data
- Be initiative, proactive, and creative and can “think outside the box”
- Be responsible, well-organized, and systematic in dealing with assignments
- Be flexible and adaptable to change and have an awareness of different cultures in the region
- Have a good command of English – spoken and written
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team
- Tech savvy - strong proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Qualifications standard
- Education:
- Undergraduate in Hospitality Management or Business administration preferred
- Requirements
- Malaysia, Malaysia Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass
- Eligible for undergraduate in a Malaysia-registered university program
- Prepared to commit to a six-month internship
- Grooming:
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Marriott standards.
