Key responsibilities
- Conducts basic research for the improvement of existing products and the development of new products, outlining procedures and specifications.
- Ensures that ingredient functionality in final products fits the purpose of the customer. Oversees sensory testing and application screening to support new solutions and sales.
- Understands key commercial requirements of the ingredient industry. Implements industry-recognized methods. Provides insights into consumer trends.
- Responsible for product development & applications for Beverage Systems, across all major EUMs.
- Responsible for product development from initiation to launch conferring with senior R, and D&A members. Interacts with process engineers, flavor experts, sales staff, marketing, and End-Use Market team, suppliers, manufacturing, customers, and packaging and marketing specialists to address any action plans.
- Develops food system formulations and related applications stability performance through a demonstrated understanding of food formulation, chemical & physical interactions.
- Interacts and troubleshoots with internal and external customers on application concerns. Fosters relationships with peers at key accounts, building the image of the company as a leader in its field.
- Product & Raw Material Library Maintenance & Implementation.
- Ensures appropriate documentation of experimental trials and outcomes to facilitate scale-up and product transfer to manufacturing.
- Ensures that good laboratory practices and lab protocols are being met.
- Maintains laboratory, including upkeep of equipment, stocking of supplies, and general cleaning of work areas.
- Actively participates in quality improvement for the function.
- Formula optimization: Cost, Performance & Supply Chain.
Qualifications and skills
- Open to fresh graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a similar field.
- Those coming with 1-3 years experience in Beverage manufacturing or Beverage application with exposure in laboratory, pilot plant, and factory will be a bonus.
- Knowledge in Beverage product development, processing & application is preferred
