Your role

As a Human Resources Intern at IKEA Malaysia, you will do the following assignments:

  • You will be majorly working in Human Resources & Marketing and/to supporting various functions to optimize the IKEA shopping experience.
  • You will learn and contribute to fulfilling the below tasks of the IKEA store:
    • To act as a highly efficient and staffed sales mechanism
    • To show home furnishing solutions full of inspiring home furnishing ideas
    • To serve as a well-qualified home furnishing specialist
    • To provide a day out for the whole family.
    • You are ready to perform or participate in additional assignments/activities, which help you build a strong network within the Company and colleagues.

Training & development 

IKEA provides its employees with training & development programs:

  • IKEA has its own system of learning and training designed for a specific job position.
  • New employees receive introduction training where they learn about how the company operates, the safety and security rules, customer-friendly principles, and IKEA’s environmental approach.
  • Each new employee is assigned a mentor – a colleague who answers all their questions, shows them their department, and introduces them to their colleagues.
  • IKEA organizes Development talks at least once a year which is a friendly meeting with the manager where the employee and manager agree together on the employee’s future goals and development plans, etc.

Work-life balance

Specifically for this role, you'll be required to be able to work on public holidays, weekends, and shift hours.
