HSBC is currently seeking an ambitious individual to join as a Graduate Trainee: Finance.

This Internship provides practical fresh graduates with hands-on experience with the Global Markets team. HSBC also sees this as an opportunity to train and identify fresh graduates for future hiring.

Principal responsibilities:

  • During the training period, trainees will be assigned to carry out specific projects in designated departments under proper supervision. Typically, the projects assigned will take 12 months of contract for fresh graduates.
  • The trainees’ role is to provide support in carrying out day-to-day activities, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

About you

The requirements for the position are as follows :

  • Candidate must be a fresh graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline; a CGPA of 3.0 or above, or at least second class upper.
  • Fluent in English; excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data/information and interpret the data for business decisions.
  • A resourceful individual with good planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ambitious plus drive and motivation to work in a fast-paced environment where winning business and meeting targets are essential.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Team player with dynamic leadership capabilities.
  • Computer literate and able to work independently.

Recruitment process :

HSBC Online Assessment – Aptitude Tests

HSBC aptitude tests will include:

  • HSBC Situational Judgement Test:  examines you your main characteristics and your skills in dealing with unknown life situations you are likely to encounter when working for HSBC. You will need to use your common sense to identify the most desirable courses of action.
  • HSBC inductive reasoning test: often referred to as a diagrammatic or logical reasoning test, will expose you to 5 diagrams with varying shapes and ask you to identify the right pattern and indicate what comes next in the sequence.

HSBC First-round Interview

The next stage of the recruitment process is a first-round job interview which will usually take the form of an HSBC telephone interview. You will be assessed on your compatibility with bank values and your general skills and motivations.

HSBC Assessment Centre/Super Day

The last stage of the HSBC recruitment process is either a half-day Assessment Centre or Super Day, in which you will be assessed by senior members of the relevant business areas across a variety of exercises, and both motivational and business interviews which may take the form of:

  • HSBC Group Exercise
  • HSBC Written Exercise
