Your role

As a trainee for this program, you will be responsible for the following roles:

Global Market Risk - Risk Control

  • Understanding financial product nuances, risk-taking activities in Global Markets, and daily and intraday market risk limits and controls is essential for HLB Group, HLBB, HLISB, and HLBLIB.
  • Regularly monitoring and reporting risk exposure for HLB Group, HLBB, HLISB, and HLBLIB.
  • Understanding of technical risk metrics, using Value-at-Risk (VaR) for trading activities, and participating in regular risk factors and market data review.
  • Understand how banks measure loss vulnerability in global markets through stress tests, review risk methodologies, and backtests on VaR models to assess forecasting accuracy.

Global Market Risk - Credit Risk

  • Understanding financial product nuances, risk-taking activities in Global Markets, daily and intraday credit counterparty risk limits, and risk investigation and analytics for HLB Group, HLBB, HLISB, and HLBLIB.
  • Regularly monitoring and reporting risk exposure for HLB Group, HLBB, HLISB, and HLBLIB, understanding risk metrics, and reviewing counterparty credit quality.
  • Participate in credit counterparty risk stress tests, review market risk methodologies, and communicate with stakeholders to assess credit counterparty risk before onboarding and establishing limits.

Training, development & rotation

The Global Markets Risk Graduate Trainee will gain concentrated exposure in either one of the Global Markets Risk departments (Risk Control / Credit Risk), along with coaching and support from line managers. You will be equipped with knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience in the job and function.

The trainees will get intensive development in credit risk and risk control. It is an acceleration program where the trainees will be prepared to be the leaders at HLB. Upon the completion of the program, there will be a landing job, especially in the Global Market Risk Department. Your performance and skills will be strongly considered for future placement.

About you
