About Gamuda Berhad

Founded in 1976, Gamuda Berhad is a publicly listed company that began as a construction-based enterprise. Today, it is one of Malaysia's leading infrastructure developers with expertise in engineering and construction, lifestyle property and township development, and infrastructure concessions.

The company is a turnkey contractor with Built-Operate-Transfer expertise. Put simply, Gamuda Berhad is assigned projects by the private or public sector to design, build, operate, and maintain facilities for a certain period. The company then transfers the facility to the owner at the end of a concession agreement. Gamuda Berhad's projects are present across Malaysia, Far East Asia, South East Asia, the Middle East, and Indochina.

Your role

Undergraduates from local and foreign universities are given the opportunity to fulfill their internship requirements through valuable on-the-job learning exposure at Malaysia's most iconic property and infrastructure projects.

The crucial experience and knowledge gained from the internship often lead to rewarding employment in their future career path. All interns are provided with a competitive monthly stipend during the internship.

Training, development & rotations

Based in Damansara Jaya, the dedicated in-house training arm provides a wide array of training throughout the year. Skills-based and technical training is provided to employees from all career levels and job streams.

Apart from having open areas for casual discussions, the vibrant center also houses a library offering a variety of titles spanning topics from soft skills and management to technical competencies.

Career progression

The Career Development Unit is set up to support and encourage employees to take ownership of their careers in Gamuda. CDU provides internal career guidance and coaching to enhance employees’ effectiveness in current and future roles. All Canadians are welcome to engage with the team in CDU, as well as to access assessment tools to discover their strengths and development needs.

Work-life balance

Being a family-friendly employer, it aims to provide more caring benefits beyond industry norms such as family care leave, paternity, extended maternity leave, childcare subsidy, and support facilities for expecting mothers and parents with young children. It hopes the provision of these benefits will provide working parents with peace of mind, helping them to focus on their career growth with a better work-life balance.

Culture & Vibe

Gamuda Berhad puts a premium on diversity and inclusion, believing that celebrating differences is key for employees to achieve their full potential. The company expresses a value for women through a variety of programs. The Woman Career Comeback program aims to recruit and retain women coming from a 6-month career break.

Graduates looking for a great first-job experience will find green pastures in Gamuda Berhad, a company that offers extensive training, opportunities for career advancement, and comprehensive benefits for its employees. Female graduates are especially valued, thanks to the company's exclusive benefits and female-centric programs.
