Your role

What role you will play in the team

From day one of your internship, you can expect to apply your knowledge and experience in a real business setting. You will be given an opportunity to prove yourself through challenging assignments. Key deliverables include:

  • Assignments are at the well-field scale level and focus on existing fields. 
  • Interpret and integrate geological and geophysical data, such as core/cuttings, fluids, outcrops, and seismic, using advanced mapping, interpretation, modeling, and other techniques. 
  • Understand basic production operations and the roles and responsibilities of geoscientists in a production organization.
  • Integrate production information and other dynamic data with geologic information to assess the remaining oil and/or gas potential in reservoirs.
  • Evaluate opportunities for additional production capture via wellworks and drilling.
  • Provide geologic basis for interpretation of reservoir performance through:
    • Sequence stratigraphic well log correlation and mapping.
    • Seismic interpretation and attributes analysis
    • Reservoir / EOD mapping and reservoir property description.
    • Production data integration.
    • Well, surveillance data evaluation.
    • Opportunity generation, well planning, and optimization.
    • Hydrocarbon resource assessment.

About you

To be eligible for this role, you must have the following:

  • Completed at least 2 years out of a 4-year Bachelor's or higher degree in Geology or Geophysics; work experience in petroleum geology advantageous. 
  • Self-motivated with good demonstrated leadership and communication skills
