Your role

In this role, you will be accountable for the tasks below:

  • To assist primarily in the external communications for the Chinese Business. You will also work with the other team members within the communications team to coordinate and execute integrated external communications plans for other businesses when needed.
  • You will work on communications materials including press releases, speeches, and other press/customer/social media-related documents.
  • You will assist in the coordination of events to optimize media exposure such as press conferences, roundtables, talent, and spokesperson interview opportunities. 
  • Regular compilation of media monitoring and analysis, assist in evaluating media effectiveness via measurement of media value and updating of the media landscape.
  • various ad-hoc tasks and projects related to platform acquisition and content analysis.

Training & development 

Astro’s Internship Programme is a structured and robust program for undergraduate students currently pursuing their first degree/diploma in institutions of higher learning. The program provides an opportunity to gain hands-on training in the media and broadcast industry, work on real projects, and benefit from a range of classroom-style training sessions. The program lasts for 10 weeks and is open to students from various fields of study. Throughout the internship, opportunities for development through classroom-style training programs are also offered. At the end of your time at Astro, you’ll have gained exposure to working life at Malaysia’s leading media company, experience, and knowledge related to your field of study, and a coveted addition to your resume. High-performing candidates will potentially be offered employment upon the completion of their studies.
