Your role

Job description

As an Intern in PR & Communications, you will:

  • Work with a mix of AirAsia MOVE’s Regional PR team, alongside PR Teams in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, as well as having the opportunity to be in close interaction with AirAsia MOVE’s Social Media team on a day-to-day basis. This role will be based out of AirAsia's office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 
  • Work closely with the Marketing team as well as all lines of businesses across AirAsia MOVE, such as Hotels, Flights, Duty-Free, Rewards, Rides, and more.

A day in a life

Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you working with your supervisor and team members to:

  • Work with your supervisor to initiate and build strong, productive relationships with local media publications and online portals, as well as content creators or Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). 
  • Obtain favorable media coverage for the company’s products and services. 
  • Ability to plan and propose PR plans for AirAsia MOVE’s lines of business and execute them alongside other team members. 
  • Prepare media documents - press releases, briefing documents, speeches, content creators’ briefs, and all other relevant external communications materials. This also includes the production of audio-visual materials (short-form videos, etc) to accompany official company announcements. 
  • Ability to translate media documents. (Bahasa Malaysia / Mandarin proficiency will be a strong advantage) 
  • Learn how to conduct overall pitching of interviews for the company’s spokespersons as and when needed. 
  • Media monitoring, especially for AirAsia MOVE and its line of businesses, and preparing PR Reports for each campaign. 
  • Be involved in Crisis Communications training of the company as a participant. 
  • Engage with communities of content creators or Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the region, as well as organize media familiarisation trips to various AirAsia destinations, product and service reviews, and more. 
  • Assist with ad-hoc social media content shooting and production / be a talent for social content where required.

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (ability to translate into Bahasa Malaysia will be an added advantage) 
      • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changes 
      • Independent and requires minimal supervision
      • Meticulous and self-driven 
      • Fun with a positive nature

    • Detailed orientation and thoughtfulness are translated into the delivery of your work

    • Design/ creative background/experience; understanding of typography, layout, form, color, and spatialization; well-versed in the design process and production methods will be an advantage 
  • Qualifications & experience
    • Degree or Studying in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Media, Journalism 
    • Can commit with at least 3 months internship and above
